Projects

Here you can find some of my projects. This is of course stuff that I find cool. If you don't like it, please Google something else and go about your business. Constructive comments will be accepted - but don't be surprised if I don't reply. Remember, my projects are my hobbies, not upkeep of the web site.

2005 Mazda RX-8

I got this car in 2009 to replace my Jeep Cherokee with over 200,000 miles. The Cherokee was the only non-rotary vehicle I had owned in almost 20 years. So now I'm back in a rotary.

This car is a daily driver with warranty and as such there are limited modifications (yet).

This is my wife's car which we picked up in 2008. Great driver, very much the go-kart. She will not let me autocross it yet :(

Project is mostly reliability mods and maintenance.

Here's your full helping of project. In the US, convertible RX-7s were not available with a turbo drivetrain. The additional weight made them kinda slack performers. So I installed the entire drivetrain from a 1987 Turbo II, and went from there. Lots of custom work here.

As of 2011, still no body work finished - that's an area I don't have much experience in.

The picture is of a Yugoslavian M24/47 Mauser, their version of the Model 98k German WWI and WWII Mauser. Most of my smithing involves these guns or variants. Some new stuff - I do play with modular sporting rifles (AR-15 descendants) and pistolry as well.

As the name implies. Interesting mechanical bits - mostly an annotated photo gallery.

Tools of the trade.
